The fire that broke out at the Kahatex factory, Sumedang Regency has been extinguished. However, officers are still carrying out the cooling process at the fire location.
“It’s been extinguished, it’s been extinguished but it’s still cooling,” said Jatinangor Police Chief, Police Commissioner Roger Thomas when confirmed detikJabar from the scene of the incident, Thursday (29/2/2024).
Roger said that the process of extinguishing the fire took place from around 11.30 WIB to 16.00 WIB.

“The blackout process started at 11.30 in the afternoon and went out at around 16.00 in the afternoon,” he said
PT. One of the buildings at Kahatex, which is located on Jalan Raya Bandung – Garut, caught fire at around 11.00 WIB. The building that burned down, Roger said, was the Department 5 building for fabric reception or fabric sorting.
“The building that burned was Department 5 building for the fabric reception section, the reception building for processing into fabric,” he said.
He said there were no injuries or fatalities. “There were no injuries or fatalities, none,” he explained.
When asked about the alleged cause of the fire, Roger said that it was currently still under police investigation.
“It’s still under investigation for the suspected cause,” he explained.
As for the vehicles deployed to extinguish the flames, apart from deploying a firefighting fleet from Sumedang Regency, Bandung Regency, water cannon vehicles from the West Java Police Mobile Brigade and firefighting vehicles belonging to PT. Kahatex.
Previous news, the PT Kahatex building in Sumedang Regency caught fire on Thursday (29/2/2024). The fire point came from the fabric finishing factory building. The closest access location to the fire point is at door 6 of PT. Kahatex or located on Jalan Raya Bandung – Garut.
