Hurricane Ida has in fact touched land in Cuba, on the southern coast of the province of Pinar del Rio, has announced the local meteorological service, Insmet. The hurricane is Category 1 with winds at 130km. times but is expected to strengthen to Category 4 and become “extremely dangerous” when it reaches the United States on Sunday, sweeping through Louisiana and Florida.
