Not long ago, Instagram revealed a new feature aimed at teenage users, especially those who are still online at night. Now, Instagram will remind users to rest when still accessing the application at night.
Quoting information from EngadgetMonday (22/1/2024), this new feature called Nighttime Nudges will automatically appear on teenage users’ Instagram accounts, and it is impossible to turn it off.
However, it is not yet known whether this feature applies to all teenagers or only users under 18 years of age.
According to Instagram, this feature is aimed at teenage users who have not used application access restriction features such as Take a Break. So, this feature will remind users if they are taking too long to access the application.
“We want teenagers when they stop using Instagram to feel that the time they spend on this application is meaningful and has a purpose, and we know sleep is very important for young people,” wrote Instagram about this feature.
Later, the Nighttime Nudges feature will appear when teenage users spend more than 10 minutes on the Instagram application, such as on Reels or DMs in the middle of the night.
