The “14th Winter” Snowboarding Competition Concludes with 4 Gold Medals

The “14th Winter” snowboarding parallel giant slalom competition in the Haraqin Division has come to a thrilling end, with a total of 4 gold medals awarded to the top athletes. The final battle took place on January 25th at the Chifeng City Haraqin competition area, marking the conclusion of an exciting event.

Thirty athletes from 11 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, including Jilin, Zhejiang, and Inner Mongolia, participated in the final competition. After a fierce battle on the 410-meter track with a 121-meter drop and 20 flag gates, Ban Xuefu from the Inner Mongolia team emerged as the champion.

Expressing his excitement, Xuefu stated, “Very excited, after all, I won the championship. In the last few trips, I felt like I was performing a little bit extraordinarily well. I didn’t think too much and just focused on my own gliding, so I wasn’t particularly confused and felt relatively stable.”

The competition, which featured parallel starts and thrilling descents, saw the Jilin Provincial team winning two gold medals in the youth women’s competition and the open women’s competition, while the Inner Mongolia team secured victory in the youth men’s competition and the open men’s competition.

After the conclusion of the event, Merrill Valley Ski Resort, the host of the competition, will be open to the public, allowing winter sports enthusiasts to experience the thrill of snowboarding firsthand. With the successful completion of the “14th Winter” snowboarding parallel giant slalom competition, athletes and spectators alike are looking forward to the next edition of this exhilarating event.
