France: “ecstasy seized”, but it was strawberry candy

by admin

PARIS. “Discovered a drug production laboratory (MDMA and ecstasy) seized a million euros worth of goods”: this is how, two days ago, the Paris police prefecture triumphantly tweeted. Today, from the forensics specialists, the truth has come: that pink powder was not a drug but the crushed strawberry candy. The operation took place in Saint-Ouen, north of Paris, and the tweet specified that the seized products (MDMA is a powerful synthetic drug) “were used to fuel clandestine evenings” in time of curfew. The tweet was enriched by two photos showing the suspicious powder, pink, with small tablets of the same color collected in bags, even more suspicious. The toxicological analyzes revealed that it was “a neutral powder, not derived from drugs or poisonous substances”. Only, candy powder, from the brand most loved by French children, “Tagada”.
