Francesca Albanese: “I’ve never been an anti-Semite. My criticisms only concern the Israeli occupation”

NEW YORK – Frances Albanianspecial rapporteur of the UN Human Rights Council on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, responds with this interview to the criticisms received in recent days for her comments.

In 2014 you had published an open letter on your Facebook page, in which you wrote that “America and Europe, one subjugated by the Jewish lobby, and the other by a sense of guilt for the Holocaust, remain on the sidelines and continue to condemn the oppressed – the Palestinians – who defend themselves with the means they have (deranged missiles) instead of calling Israel to its responsibilities according to international law”.
