– Gael Monfils has been disqualified from UTS Oslo due to a breach of the guidelines, which stems from his behavior towards the tournament leader, UTS writes in the press release.

Monfils lost his first match against Alex de Minaur and is now replaced by compatriot Lucas Pouille for the rest of the tournament.

The Frenchman is known as one of the biggest showmen on the ATP tour and has won over NOK 200 million in prize money during his career.

He has reached the semi-finals in both the French Open and the US Open.

Casper Ruud won his first match in the tournament 3-1 against Holger Rune on Friday evening.

The format in UTS is such that four rounds of eight minutes each are played. The first to win three rounds emerges victorious from the duel.

Also, only one serve is allowed, and furthermore, the players can each use their own “card”, which means that the next point gives three points.

The UTS tournament continues on Saturday, when Casper Ruud will face Alexander Bublik and Dominic Thiem.
