(LaPresse) A convoy of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip in recent hours. The vehicles crossed the Rafah crossing bringing food and medicines needed for the 2.3 million inhabitants of the Palestinian territory. The relief effort has been complicated by donor countries’ decision to suspend funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) – the largest provider of humanitarian aid during the crisis – after Israel it said 12 of its employees participated in the October 7 attacks in Israel. Many have warned of catastrophic consequences for the people of Gaza. Precisely in Rafah, concerns are growing for the million and a half Palestinians who have sought refuge near the border with Egypt after Israel announced attacks on this city too.
