General Vannacci is under investigation for inciting racial hatred

The Army General, Roberto Vannacci, is under investigation in Rome in relation to some statements that appear in his book “The world upside down”. The crime of incitement to racial hatred. According to what we learn, the procedure was started after some complaints presented in recent weeks by associations. In particular, one of the complaints was brought to the attention of the prosecutors by an association assisted by the lawyer Massimiliano Strampelli. The subject of the complaint are some passages in the book and in particular those in which Vannacci defines homosexuals as “non-normal” or when he cites an episode experienced in Paris in which he refers to people of colour.

‘The only incitement made is to reflection and reading. No incitement to hatred.’ This is what is stated by the lawyer Giorgio Carta, lawyer of General Roberto Vannacci, commenting on the registration in the register of suspects in Rome. Carta, as a joke, adds: ‘Galileo Galilei was also tried for his ideas but 300 years later he was ‘acquitted’. We hope, based on personal data, to resolve this matter sooner.

General Roberto Vannacci “never in the book claims that one race is superior to another, but simply limits himself to criticizing excessive extreme multiculturalism which, as we have seen, can sometimes cause very serious problems; this does not mean that the my client Vannacci has ever proclaimed the superiority of the Italian race” states the lawyer Massimiliano Manzo, the Florentine criminal lawyer who defends Vannacci together with his colleague Giorgio Carta, who instead assists the general against the accusations of the military prosecutor’s office. “Each ethnic group is different from the other and each culture has positive and negative aspects without in any way ever speaking of superiority, but forced coexistence is not always a simple solution – adds the lawyer Manzo -. The words of my assisted are nothing more than a manifestation of one’s freedom of opinion expressed in a completely private capacity, and punishing or hitting them could instead constitute a form of censorship that is not very suited to our constitutional democracy”.
