Greece, positive Italian students: 15 stuck in Ios. Another 200 in Dubai

by admin

About 300 Italian students, including many from Puglia, who left last June 30, winners of a study holiday organized by INPS in collaboration with the British Academy, a tour operator specialized in student tourism in Italy and abroad, remain blocked in Dubai. The initial 11 cases of Covid infection have dramatically increased after the results of the double swab: currently the positives would be almost 200.

As far as we know, there would be no case of particular gravity. The situation is monitored by the Italian Consulate in Dubai. Canceled the return trip scheduled yesterday, with communication given to the families, the boys in these hours are assisted by a special task force of doctors and paramedics. Provision is being made to divide the positives from the negatives, in two separate structures, equipping special common spaces to try to make the forced stay less traumatic.

Fifteen 18-year-old Venetian students are blocked on the Greek island of Ios, because some of them tested positive for Covid. The young people, who have decided to go into self-isolation, do not know when they will be able to return home, the families explained, arguing that the Greek authorities would not have provided information to their children or any logistical support. The young people, all with at least one dose of vaccine already made – reports the Gazzettino – were alarmed when a girl from the company began to suffer from a slight malaise, with fever. Without the swabs, 5 tested positive for Covid.
