Croatian Interior Minister Davor Božinović confirmed that half a ton of cocaine was seized in the port of Rijeka.
Božinović stated that the drugs were confiscated by the police and the Customs Administration, and that more details will be announced tomorrow at the press conference.
“It is the result of serious work, preparation and professionalism and positioning when it comes to an international organization like Europol and DEA,” said Božinović.
Croatian media announced that high-purity cocaine was found in containers that were found at the port terminal, from where they were supposed to be transported as container cargo by trucks to their destinations, most likely to Western Europe.
Bozinović stated that he did not know many details. “I know that in the last few months alone, the police seized 635 kilograms of cocaine together with the Customs Administration, which is an incredible result,” said Božinović.
