HIGHWAYS Meeting at MIT to set new objectives: greater resources for maintenance and tariffs blocked for 7 years – Current affairs

In a recent meeting held at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the situation of the motorways was taken stock, reaching some important conclusions.

Objectives to be achieved: tariff freeze for seven years, greater resources for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance activities and the establishment of an Observatory on the right to mobility and the safety of the A24 and A25, with the function of information and involvement of the territories affected by the passage of important arteries and then ad hoc technical tables for specific themes.

The A24/A25 motorways, currently affected by significant ordinary and extraordinary maintenance works, have impressive numbers: 281 km in length on which there are 175 viaducts, 55 tunnels and the longest double-tube tunnel in Italy. They cross 2 regions of Lazio and Abruzzo, 3 national parks, 12 mountain communities and are affected by traffic of over 260 thousand vehicles per day.

The meeting was attended by a delegation of mayors of the territories concerned, representatives of the Lazio and Abruzzo regions, of Strada dei Parchi and the extraordinary commissioners for the adaptation and anti-seismic safety of the A24 and A25 motorways as well as the commissioner for the safety of the water system Gran Sasso.
