The trial of the oldest defendant ever accused of Nazi crimes began today. The centennial Josef Schuetz presented himself walking leaning on a walker in front of the court of Brandenburg / Havel to answer for complicity in the murders of 3,518 prisoners perpetrated between 1942 and 1945 in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The SS guardian, a member of the infamous “Death’s Head” brigade is accused of having participated in the massacre of Jews and Soviet prisoners of war shot, hanged or sent to death in the gas chambers.

At 100 years old, the year 1942 would have made him a twenty-one year old person (21 years old). I call BS on the claim that he was the “Warden” of the camp.
If he is “guilty” only because (and just because) he was there on the grounds (somewhere in the camp) at the time, then what purpose is the trial? All the trappings of an “Official” proceeding, but with the outcome apparently predetermined. Smells like a Kangaroo court to me.
God help us all.
