VENEZIA, NusaBali – Naturalized defender for the Indonesian National Team, Jay Idzes played for 90 minutes when his club, Venezia beat hosts Palermo 3-0, in the match 30 Serie B 2023/2024, Saturday (16/3) early morning WITA, at the Renzo Barbera Stadium .
Venice appeared at full strength. Idzes became the general in Venezia’s back line in a 3-5-2 formation. Venezia completely dominated the match and led 2-0 at halftime thanks to two goals from Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo.
Venezia completed a 3-0 win thanks to Christian Gytkjaer’s goal in second half injury time. This victory made Venezia move up to second place in the standings with 57 points. After defending Venezia at home to Palermo, Idzes will fly to Jakarta to join the Indonesian national team squad which is preparing to face Vietnam.

Idzes himself officially has an Indonesian passport since December 28 2023. He took the oath as an Indonesian citizen at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) DKI Jakarta. The process of moving Jay Idzes’ federation from KNVB to PSSI has also been completed since last February. Because of that, Jay Idzes just had to make his debut for the Indonesian National Team. *
