In the final match of CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024, the champion will be the best paid in the world, with a prize of USD 23,000,000, announced this Monday, March 19, the President of the South American Football Confederation, Alejandro Domínguez.

“This year’s CONMEBOL Libertadores final will have a prize of 23 million dollars for the champion, regardless of everything he accumulates in the competition,” said President Domínguez, during his speech at the draw for the most important club competitions on the continent.

Compared to the 2023 champion, CONMEBOL will increase the prize for the champion of this edition of the tournament by USD 5,000,000. In this way, Domínguez added, the winner of this edition will be the highest paid in the world.

– Increase in Sports Merit Awards –

Furthermore, among other increases approved by the CONMEBOL Council within the Sports Merit Awards policy, it assured that the prize in the Sudamericana for the winner of each match in the Group Phase will go from USD 100,000 to USD 115,000, while in the Libertadores it will rise from USD 300,000 to USD 330,000 per commitment.

President Domínguez celebrated that since 2016, when he assumed leadership of CONMEBOL, the prizes went from a total amount of 70 million dollars in prizes in both championships to a record of 316 million dollars that will be distributed in this cycle in both championships.
On the other hand, he celebrated that CONMEBOL Sudamericana registered a growth in its audience of 450%, while the Libertadores audience grew by 48%.
