Now that Nicky Hayen is (temporarily) taking over the A-team of Club Brugge, the Dutchman Robin Veldman will replace him at Club NXT. Remarkable, because Veldman still worked for… Anderlecht between 2021 and 2023.

After the dismissal of head coach Ronny Deila, Club Brugge moved internally and promoted Nicky Hayen from Club NXT to the A-team. While Club Brugge hopes for a “nice end to the season” with Hayen, it will look for a sustainable solution for next season.
In the meantime, Hayen will be replaced at the Bruges promises by Robin Veldman, who was fired from the Scottish second division Queen’s Park FC in December. This is also an ad interim assignment for him.

The fact that Veldman is joining Club Brugge may be somewhat surprising given his past at Anderlecht, but he does have experience in leading a promising team in Belgium. The Purple & White were also satisfied with his work. Veldman is taking the Pro License course in Belgium and is still regularly in our country. Veldman has an interesting CV to join in the short term.
Veldman was recruited by Anderlecht as a promise coach in May 2021 and immediately won the cup with the RSCA Futures.
After the dismissal of Felice Mazzu, Veldman succeeded him on an interim basis as head coach of the A-team. When Brian Riemer came, Veldman became his assistant. Anderlecht was satisfied with the Dutchman and wanted to keep him in that position for longer, but under the influence of the Danish wind that blew at Anderlecht, they parted ways in June 2023.
Veldman then started working as coach of the Scottish second division club Queen’s Park FC, where he was fired at the end of last year.
