PEOPLE – Love to overcome illness. The former candidate of Secret Story and influencer Caroline Receveur expressed her gratitude this Saturday March 23 by recounting how the messages of support from her fans helped her fight against her breast cancer. After hiding her illness for months, she finally chose to announce it publicly on Instagram last July.
A pattern similar to that followed very recently by another public figure: Kate Middleton. After remaining silent to preserve her family, Prince William’s wife declared in a video this Friday that she had cancer, the nature of which she did not specify. An unexpected announcement, which has since earned him a large wave of support and wishes for recovery.
Invited to react to this subject on the set of the show “ What era ! »this Saturday evening, Caroline Receveur declared: “That frees you to say things. We need to be surrounded, loved, supported.”
Recalling her own experience, she then added: “In any case, talking about it allowed me to receive a huge wave of love, and this wave carried me,” as you can hear in the excerpt below.
This “wave of love, support, humanity… It was very beautiful”, she remembers with tears in her eyes. Enough to not regret having publicly announced his illness, despite his initial reservations on the subject. “ I told myself that I would go through all the treatments with my wig on and that no one would notice anything,” she explains, “but in the end I realized that influence is part of my life, I I felt this need to share.
“My surgeon told me that I am “cancer free””
Now in good health, the star has won her fight against breast cancer. She explained that she no longer has any cancer cells in her body: “my surgeon told me that I am “cancer free””she declared in response to questions from Léa Salamé.
A few months ago, Caroline Receveur posted images of her last chemotherapy on her Instagram account with this message: “here I am taking the first step in my long-distance race towards complete recovery”. She then explained to her followers: “I still have the steps of surgery, radiotherapy and immunotherapy, but my heart, my head and my soul are at peace, and I am, for the first time in my life. »
“I really remember everything that happened, it’s strange to say that, not a lot of negative things,” explained Caroline Receveur this Saturday. “I have a vision of what happened to me which is a little singular, for me it was a life experience”adds the influencer, still very moved, for whom the treatments have forever changed her vision of life.
