Indonesian men’s doubles Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri were runners up at the 2024 Swiss Open.

This confirmation was obtained after Bagas/Fikri lost 22-24, 26-28 to the British pair Ben Lane/Sean Vendy in the 2024 Swiss Open final at St Jakobshalle, Basel, Sunday (24/3) afternoon WIB.

The battle was fierce from the start of the game. Bagas/Fikri played a draw at the start of the game.

Then Bagas/Fikri fell behind 7-11 in the first game interval. After the first game interval, the English pair managed to walk away with a 20-17 lead.

But Bagas/Fikri did not give up. The Indonesian pair were able to equalize the score at 20-20.

Bagas’ hard smash with a speed of 444 kilometers per hour successfully brought the Indonesian pair to a 21-20 lead. Unfortunately, in the first game Bagas/Fikri lost dramatically 22-24.

In the second game Bagas/Fikri fell behind again at the start of the game. However, Bagas/Fikri managed to take the lead back to 11-10 in the second game interval.

After the second game interval, the match became even fiercer after the English pair were able to equalize the score 13-13.

The English pair were able to overtake 14-13, but were equalized by Bagas/Fikri 14-14.

Bagas/Fikri then managed to widen their lead to 16-14, 18-15.

Unfortunately the English pair were able to equalize the score to 20-20, 21-21, 22-22, 23-23, 24-24, 25-25, 26-26

In the end, Bagas/Fikri lost 28-26 to the English pair and ensured they finished as runners up. Meanwhile, the British pair Ben Lane/Sean Vendy emerged as men’s doubles champions at the 2024 Swiss Open.

After this, there are still two Indonesian representatives who will appear in the 2024 Swiss Open final.

Indonesian women’s doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto will face Taiwanese pair Hsu Ya Ching/Lin Wan Ching.

Then, Indonesian women’s singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who is the first seed, will face Spain’s Carolia Marin, who is the first seed.
