Original title: India relaxes international entry restrictions and some international travelers are exempt from quarantine
China Daily, November 16 According to CNN, nearly two years after the border was closed to international tourists, on November 16, local time, India allowed foreign tourists fully vaccinated to enter the country.
The Ministry of Health of India stated that passengers entering India must be fully vaccinated, submit a 72-hour virus test negative certificate, and comply with all epidemic regulations.
It is reported that passengers from countries that have signed a mutual recognition agreement on vaccination with India can leave the airport without undergoing virus testing after arriving in India. However, they must monitor their health for the next 14 days.
In addition, passengers who have not been fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all must submit virus test samples at the airport upon arrival. They will then be allowed to leave the airport, but they will need to stay at home for a week. After the quarantine is over, they will be tested again for the virus, and if the result is negative, they will continue to carry out a week of health monitoring.
According to reports, this is the first time India has allowed foreign passengers to enter the country on commercial flights since March 2020. Since last month, charter tourists who have been fully vaccinated have been allowed to enter the country.
