Two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israel just before midnight local time were intercepted and shot down by the Iron Dome air defense system.
The army made it known, after announcing that the alarm sirens for the imminent arrival of the rockets had sounded in the coastal city of Ascalon, and in the kibbutzim of Zikim and Karmia. According to Israeli press reports, no damage or injuries were reported.
