Missile alarm sirens are ringing in surrounding Jerusalem. The Israeli army says it according to which the areas range from Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem.
According to the media, explosions were heard in those areas. Public TV showed images of Palestinians who began to cheer at the sound of anti-missile sirens – taken just minutes after the expiry of the Hamas ultimatum -.

The spokesman for Hamas’ military wing, Ezzedin al-Kassam brigades, confirmed that his movement has launched a volley of rockets towards Jerusalem. “It was a response – he specified – to the aggression and crimes against the Holy City and the prevarications against our people in the Sheikh Jarrah district and in the al-Aqsa mosque”.
