Jan Christian Vestre appointed Minister of Health and Care on Friday 19 April 2024.

• Born in 1986, 37 years old.
• Comes from Haugesund.
• Took office as minister of industry in Jonas Gahr Støre’s government on 14 October 2021.
• Graduated in law from the University of Oslo.
• Former general manager at the furniture manufacturer Vestre.
• In 2019, was named Norway’s best growth creator in the international competition “EY Entrepreneur Of The Year”.
• Political adviser to the then Minister of Industry and Trade Trond Giske in 2013.
• Political adviser for the Labor Party’s representatives in the church, education and research committee at the Storting 2010–2012.
• Central board member of AUF 2010–2012.
• Survived the attack on Utøya on 22 July 2011.
• Chairman of the board in the period 2013–2017 for the reconstruction of Utøya after the terrorist attack.
