Jayden Danns Called Himself Like Playing in a Movie When He Scored 2 Goals at Anfield

Young Liverpool player Jayden Danns called the two goals he scored at Anfield when starring for Liverpool’s senior team in the 3-0 win against Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup, Thursday (29/2) WIB as his dream come true, quoted from BETWEEN.

Danns scored two goals in that match in the 73rd and 88th minutes. Danns’ two goals that night completed the Reds’ convincing victory after in the first half, his young colleague Lewis Koumas also got his name on the scoreboard for the first time in the 44th minute.

Given the opportunity to appear in the first team by coach Jurgen Klopp for the third time in all competitions this season, after scoring two goals, Danns still cannot believe what he did that night and even admitted that night it was like he was in a movie scene.

“This is a dream come true. I’ve supported this club since I was young, since birth, so to come in and score a goal on the Kop, it feels unreal for me. It felt like being in a movie. “I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight,” said the 18-year-old striker, quoted from the club’s official website, Thursday.

Danns completed his first goal well from inside the penalty box, technically chipping the ball after receiving Harvey Elliot’s assist.

Meanwhile for the second goal, the English footballer became the “man in the right team and in the right place” when he greeted Southampton goalkeeper Joe Lumley’s edge after the goalkeeper had parried Conor Bradley’s kick.

“Obviously (Harvey Elliott) slipped me. I just saw him and I think he has the vision to make it happen. The goalkeeper is almost close and when he gets that close, you have to let him go,” he said.

“The second goal was pure joy. I didn’t think that would happen to me. “I’m happy with one goal, but when two goals happen, I just slide,” he added.

With this victory, Liverpool advanced to the sixth round of the FA Cup and will face Manchester United (MU) at Old Trafford on March 16.

Asked whether he was motivated to have the same impact against MU later, he hoped he could have a big impact again.

“Hopefully. I don’t know. Hopefully when the time comes I can make an impact, but we’ll see. I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve got now. I couldn’t ask for more,” he said.

Meanwhile, coach Klopp praised Danns’ performance with his two goals against Southampton. The German coach said Danns had very striking instincts as a striker at his young age.

“His striking instincts, there’s no doubt about it. “There is no youth level where you don’t have it,” said Klopp.

“That he is there is cool, that his goals are of the same size in the youth sector is also cool because that’s why in situations like that, chipping is so good,” he added.
