Jeff Bezos once again became the richest man in the world after surpassing Elon Musk on Monday, 4, according to the billionaires index put together by Bloomberg.
The Amazon founder’s net worth reached $200 billion after a $23 billion gain, while Musk lost about $31 billion and came in second with $198 billion, according to the index.
Musk received the title of richest person in the world in 2021 and, after changes in the ranking, regained his first place position in May 2023, when he surpassed LVMH (LVMHF) CEO Bernard Arnault, who runs brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior and Celine. In the current ranking, Arnault occupies third place and the three – Musk, Arnault and Bezos – have been competing with each other for first place for months.
Tesla shares are down more than 7% this Monday and about 24% year to date.
