Still tension in Jerusalem. This time a Palestinian woman was killed by police after attempting to stab Israeli officers on Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The woman allegedly attempted to stab the officers with a knife, but no policemen were injured. The woman is Esra Khuzaymah, a 30-year-old resident of the city of Qabatiya near Jenin in the West Bank. Palestinian media still report that police officers closed the gates of the Temple Mount after the attempted attack.

According to the police, the Palestinian woman approached the officers near one of the entrances leading to the Temple Mount, pulled out her knife and tried to hit the police. They then opened fire on the woman, killing her. It is not yet clear how she managed to enter Israel.

Jenin in recent weeks has become one of the centers of greatest tension after two Israelis have been stabbed in a shop near the central bus station in Jerusalem in recent weeks.
