DC’s billion-dollar production sequel hits Brazilian cinemas in October this year.
Ever since Joker won 2 gold statuettes at the 2020 Oscars, including a win for Joaquin Phoenix as Best Actor of the season, audiences have been yearning for the sequel to this story full of insanity. After the announcement of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, then, it was just an addition responsible for the exponential increase in expectations.
On Tuesday night (9), during a Warner Bros. panel. Discovery at Cinemacon 2024, the first trailer for Delirio a Dois was released by the studio. The record confirms the musical expectations about the project, in addition to showing the chaos seen in the original project gaining new proportions with the duo of artists.
Warner Bros. Is Discovery Joker 2 a musical? After Wonka and Mean Girls, film with Lady Gaga leaves fans confused
The preview begins by introducing details of Arthur Fleck’s experience in prison, with the contrast already seen before between his sadistic humor and anguished melancholy. An important part of this sequence, the power of music is exalted at all times – and gradually the trailer starts to show the meeting between Joker and Harley Quinn. From the moment they meet, erased and uncharacterized, to cathartic sequences in which they begin to dominate Gotham City on different fronts, always guided, apparently, by a spectacle of violence.
In Joker 2, we follow the film’s sequel about Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), who worked as a clown for a talent agency and had to deal with his mental problems forever. Coming from a complicated family background, his unconventional personality got him fired from his job, and, in reaction to this and so many other unhappinesses in his life, he took a violent stance – and became the Joker.
Under the direction of Todd Phillips once again, the narrative takes place after the events of the 2019 film, after a popular movement against Gotham City’s elite began, a revolution that had the Joker as its greatest representative.

The hype grows even more due to the risk taken: Warner spent a large amount on the project, as it has a budget up to three times larger than the original feature. While Joker had a cost of between 50 and 70 million dollars – and the excellent result of 1.074 billion -, Delirium for Two had approximately 200 million in production costs.
With Zazie Beetz, Jacob Lofland, Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener in the cast, Joker: Delirium for Two hits Brazilian cinemas on October 3rd.
