Extremo elogia Ruben Amorim and Viktor Gyökeres

Jovane Cabral, on loan from Sporting to Salernitana, showed this Monday hope in returning to the Lions squad in 2024/25 and praised the club, coach Ruben Amorim and striker Viktor Gyökeres.

«I’m a Sporting fan, I always support Sporting, whether I’m playing or away. I hope that, next season, I can go there, do my job and, who knows, stay. Ruben Amorim? We are very close, he helped me a lot, and he is a great coach. Now it’s time to focus on Salernitana and I wish you good luck [ao Sporting] to be champions. I want the fans to believe in the players and continue to give strength”, said the Cape Verdean, in an interview with Antena 1.

Regarding Sporting’s defeat in the semi-finals of the League Cup, the forward admitted he was disappointed, but continued to fully believe in winning the championship.

«Cool always sad [com o afastamento da Taça da Liga]. I think Sporting played very well, but they didn’t get the victory. They have everything in hand to win the championship. I’m going to root for Sporting to be champions,” he guaranteed.

The winger believes in a possible return next season and admits he has a clear conscience with everything he did at Sporting: «I’m at Sporting to help. There are players with a lot of quality and I can’t always play every game. Whatever I have to do to help, I will do. It’s the coach who decides, but I’m one hundred percent happy with what I did at Sporting and I’m grateful for everything they did for me too.”

He is currently at CAN, serving the Cape Verde national team, and will compete, this Monday, in the round of 16 of the competition against Mauritania, hoping to be able to help the team reach the next stage.
