TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Head of Information Center (Kapuspen) TNI TNI Major General Nugraha Gumilar said that the Military Police Center or Puspom TNI had investigated the case of a Fortuner driver with a TNI service plate who crashed and had an altercation with another driver on the Cikampek Toll Road.

The case of this arrogant fortuner driver went viral on social media on Thursday, April 12 2024. The reason is, the fortuner driver with TNI service plates had claimed to be a member of the TNI and had a general brother named Tony Abraham.

Nugraha said that based on the results of the initial investigation into the viral video, the TNI Puspom had examined it data base vehicle registration number at Denma TNI Headquarters. Furthermore, said Nugraha, the TNI Puspom had also checked the database system of the National Police Headquarters Korlantas Regiden.

From the results of the inspection, the Fortuner car used by the driver was registered under the owner’s name Asep Adang. “Then it was discovered that (Asep Adang) was a retired Pati officer,” said Nugraha when contacted Tempo on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Asep Adang is a retired TNI AU officer with the last rank of Air Marshal TNI. He retired in 2020 with his last position as Principal Secretary (Sestama) of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT). Adang is a 1985 graduate of the Air Force Academy (AAU) from the Aviation Corps.

Currently, said Nugraha, a team of investigators from the TNI Puspom is visiting Asep Adang’s residence to confirm the use of the TNI Headquarters service plate noreg 84337-00.

Nugraha did not answer whether the Fortuner driver was also a TNI member. He said the information provided was still preliminary. The TNI Puspom will continue to investigate this case.

Previously, it went viral on social media that a man using a Fortuner car with TNI service plates crossed the shoulder of the road on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, arguing with other drivers. He accused another driver of hitting his car, and hit the car back.

Quoted via social media accounts undercover.id, uploaded Thursday, April 11 2024, the man got out and approached the driver who was hit by his official car, and admitted that he had an older brother with the rank of TNI general.

“My brother general, Tony Abraham, is looking for it,” said the Fortuner driver when asked about the ownership of the official car.
