The fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has died – Dagsavisen

Cavalli died at his residence in Florence after a long illness, the Italian news agency Ansa reported on Friday evening.

Among the first to embrace Cavalli’s creations were film stars such as Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot in the 1970s, but the Italian designer maintained his popularity and contributed to the present day dressing stars such as Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez.

The dresses signed by Cavalli were often very revealing, exposing a lot of skin and leaving little to the imagination.

Cavalli himself had a great fondness for fast Ferrari sports cars, fat cigars and unbuttoned shirts that showed off a tan chest.

He married a supermodel, owned a purple helicopter and a vineyard in Tuscany, and was on first name terms with several generations of Hollywood stars.
