For his part, the president of Gustavo Petro published on the morning of Sunday, February 11, his rejection of these events: “The Inmaculada gang has challenged society. Their bosses are in prison. We do not accept blackmail,” said the head of state on his X (Twitter) account.

After the violent events, several measures were taken, the governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro, announced the restriction of mobility for citizens through her official account on the social network X:

“We are going to militarize the city to accompany the Police in their functions of guaranteeing the security and tranquility of the Tulueños. We ask citizens to report any activity that tends to alter public order (sic), ”he confirmed.

The departmental leader assured that the serious acts of insecurity that night would be retaliation by organized crime in that city. “Criminals are reacting violently in Tuluá due to the capture of their leaders and the measures we have taken. They are not going to override the institutions, I am coordinating with @gustavovelezr, the @DevalPolicia and @Ejercito_Div3 so that, immediately, we guarantee public order in Tuluá (…) Together we will win the battle against the criminals! (sic),” she added.

For his part, Mayor Gustavo Vélez reported that the municipality had state support, so he asked residents to support the authorities and provide information on any suspicious activity:

“We continue working to overcome those obstacles that cause unrest to the citizens of Tulua. We have the support of the institutions, now we need the support of the people to report, call or report any anomalous event,” she indicated.

The local leader recalled that in that city there is a serious situation of violence due to criminal organizations that commit crimes in that territory: “We are working to restore tranquility in our municipality. That is not an easy task and we must all work together to achieve it. We are telling the people of Tulueño that we are coordinated with all institutions and we are going to continue fighting against crime to restore order and authority,” he concluded.
