The man, aged around 30, went up to the roof of Lisbon Airport this Monday morning. He surrendered to authorities late in the afternoon, seven hours later.
According to a source from the Firefighters Regiment, the alert was given at around 10:47 am this Monday for an incident in Alameda das Comunidades Portuguesas, in Lisbon, where Humberto Delgado airport is located.
According to the same source, information about what happened and what led the man to go up to the roof “is scarce”.
Meanwhile, the Public Security Police (PSP) created a large security perimeter in the arrivals area of Lisbon Airport, after the man climbed to the roof.
CMTV reported in the early afternoon that the PSP had set up a security perimeter at Lisbon Airport due to the presence of a man on the roof of the infrastructure.
According to the television station, this is a foreign citizen who was held in a space similar to the airport’s Temporary Installation Center.
