Marítimo’s B team beat CDC Montalegre 3-1 this Sunday, in a game counting for the 18th round of the Portuguese Championship.
Nelson Jardim’s team went to the northern region looking for three points and, in the 5th minute, Stanley Kanu opened the scoring at Estádio Doutor Diogo Alves Vaz Pereira.
Montalegre still tied the match (15′), but Kanu was on his feet and put Leão do Almirante Reis ahead before the break. The result was decided by Daniel Silva, in the 90th minute, making it 3-1 for the Maritime team.
With this result, Marítimo B rises to seventh place in the league table with 24 points. The next round is scheduled for Sunday, at 3 pm, against FC Tirsense, at the Estádio da Imaculada Conceição, in Santo António.
