– “Look To A Star” has a great range, from the hopeless longing in the ballad “Naturally”, total affection and happiness in “Delight” to the synthpop drama of “Last Resort”, says Metteson, who is currently working on the album.
Three days before he finally made his album debut with “Look To A Star” on Friday, he released the title track as a single with an accompanying video.
The song “Look To A Star” is about people who fall outside, and how painful it is to see the potential or dreams of a person, a close friend, lover or family member, fade away. The song refers to a collective responsibility, but also the powerlessness and helplessness one can feel in the face of other people’s, or one’s own, darkness.
– The song and album titles are therefore a bit misleading. I think it was funny, when you first have to release a debut album, to go a little hard, knowing that you will find more teams if you want to look, says Metteson himself.
Hopeless romantic
In the press release, he admits that love did not come naturally to him. Until he met his current partner.
– I was a hopeless romantic in my late twenties, I had never been dangerously in love or experienced reciprocated love, and the expression stuck with me.
He went with his girlfriend to London to work with some producers.
– When he left me on the way to the airport at the Wallace Road sign, I imagined him leaving me forever, and wrote the song of the same title, just to see if I still had those dark feelings in me.

This spring and summer, the pop star will carry out her biggest tour to date, with concerts in Europe and the UK, including Oslo, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Manchester and the well-known Moth Club in London.
– I have no goal of becoming a narrow-minded artist. After all, I grew up with Whitney Houston, Maria Carey, Toni Braxton and Celin Dion, Metteson told Blikk after he became the shooting star of the year at Bylarm as far back as 2021.
