(LaPresse) US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has kicked off his latest diplomatic mission in the Middle East starting from Turkey, his first stop on this tour which will take him to various countries in the area. In Istanbul he had a new face-to-face meeting with President Erdogan. Before the meeting, which lasted two hours, the American secretary met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. This is Blinken’s fourth visit in three months. A mission that takes place in the midst of worrying developments outside Gaza: from tensions in Lebanon, to those in northern Israel, passing through the Red Sea and ending in Iraq. (LaPresse/AP)
