Historic day for Mali thanks to the signing of the agreement in Rome between the communities of northern Mali, in the presence of Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio. Yesterday – a note reads – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also signed the joint declaration between Di Maio and the Minister of Malians Abroad and African Integration, Al Hamdou Ag Ilène, which aims to strengthen cooperation in matters of migration and security.
Bilateral came a month after Minister Di Maio’s visit to Mali, during which the head of the Farnesina met with representatives of local institutions. As mentioned, yesterday, in support of the Algiers agreements for peace in Mali and the outcome of a series of meetings promoted by the Onlus Ara Pacis, which allowed for a significant increase in mutual trust between the parties, in Rome also an important agreement between the communities of northern Mali, in front of Minister Di Maio.
The agreement constitutes an important step in the joint efforts to relaunch the agreements and progress in the process of stabilization, reconciliation and combating illegal migratory flows in northern Mali, in the framework of the stabilization efforts made by the transitional government of Bamako.
