The test drilling was successful.
At the end of February, test drilling for natural gas deposits began in the area of the Kalkalpen National Park. Now the drilling company ADX has reported: “We have found natural gas at a depth of around 1,500 meters”. From the very beginning, the drilling caused a lot of discussion, especially among environmentalists. They tried to fight these drillings until the very end.
ADX speaks of a “historic find”. What do Mollners say about this? We were there and asked around.
The drilling tower is now being dismantled and the borehole is sealed. Further tests will have to show how much gas was found there at a depth of around 1,500 meters. However, due to a lack of permits, these will not take place until autumn.
