Monkeypox, the UN: “Racist and homophobic information on the virus”

GENEVA – The United Nations AIDS agency warns of “racist and homophobic” information circulating on the monkeypox virus, putting an effective response to the spread of the virus at risk. The risk, underlined a note from Unaids, is not only the strengthening of homophobic and racist stereotypes, but also that the effectiveness of the action to fight the epidemic will be compromised.
