NasDem legislative candidate Ratu Wulla resigns, votes defeat Viktor Laiskodat in NTT

DPR legislative candidates from NasDem Party serial number 5, Ratu Ngadu Bonu Wulla decided to withdraw from the nomination even though he passed the NTT II electoral district (dapil) with 76,331 votes 2024 Election.

Ratu’s voice defeated the former Governor of NTT, Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat who became the NasDem legislative candidate with serial number 1 in the NTT II electoral district. Viktor only got 65,359 votes.

NTT KPU Commissioner, Baharudin Hamzah, confirmed that Ratu had sent a letter of resignation as a DPR candidate to the KPU. According to him, the letter was submitted during the KPU plenary meeting.

“Yes, earlier during the plenary session at the Central KPU, the Nasdem Party submitted a letter of resignation in question,” said Baharudin to CNNIndonesia.comTuesday (12/3) afternoon.

Baharudin said that because Ratu was a DPR RI legislative candidate, the resignation letter was submitted to the KPU/

“For DPR RI legislative candidates, the determination rests with the RI KPU, and the authority lies with the (Central) KPU, not with the Provincial KPU, and it is appropriate for the national recap in NTT to be conveyed,” he said.

Several NTT residents regret the resignation of Ratu, who was elected as a member of the DPR RI for the 2024-2029 period.

One of the residents, Fillo Rosita, said that it was very regretful that the female representative from the NTT II electoral district had to resign without a clear reason.

“Very sorry, why did you have to resign even though you have been elected and can represent female cadres from NTT in the Central DPR,” said Fillo when contacted CNNIndonesia.comWednesday (13/3).

Another NTT resident, Nana Baitanu, asked Ratu to explain the reasons for withdrawing from being a DPR candidate. He hopes that the Queen will not come under pressure to decide to resign.

In the NTT II electoral district, Ratu was in third place with the most votes. First place was obtained by Anita Jacoba Gah from the Democratic Party with 131,396 votes.

Then in second place was Melkiades Laka Lena from the Golkar Party who received 95,138 votes.

There are seven DPR seats being contested from the NTT II electoral district, which includes Kupang City, Kupang Regency, South Central Timor Regency, North Central Timor, Belu, Malacca, East Sumba, Central Sumba, West Sumba, Southwest Sumba, Rote Ndao and Sabu Raijua .

Ratu Wulla is also still listed as a member of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period from the NasDem faction who currently sits on Commission IX.

The Queen’s resignation has the potential to make Viktor Laiskodat move to Senayan. Viktor as legislative candidate number 1 was in second place with the most votes from NasDem in the NTT II electoral district.

CNNIndonesia.com still trying to ask the Queen for an explanation, but the person concerned has not yet responded to her resignation from her candidacy as an elected member of the legislature.
