As of Monday, February 12, the peak and plate will begin to govern in Ibagué with the new modifications. One of these will be the change in the restriction hours, which will now be between 9:00 am and 11:00 am, and 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm Mayor Johana Aranda announced a series of modifications, which were agreed with the citizens.

“It is very important to listen to our people and that these decisions be concerted; Therefore, we will maintain the sectorized measure. “You Ibaguereños gave your opinion and we applaud that request,” said the president.

The mayor of Ibagué reported that during the first week pedagogical measures will be applied and as of February 19, the sanctions will begin.

Modifications to the beak and plate

Among the three changes is the rotation of digits. Now it will be done every six months, so the restriction that will apply between February 12 and June 30 is the following:

Monday: 6 and 7

Tuesday: 8 and 9

Wednesday: 0 and 1

Thursday: 2 and 3

Friday: 4 and 5

While for the second semester the restriction will be like this:

Monday: 4 and 5

Tuesday: 6 and 7

Wednesday: 8 and 9

Thursday: 0 and 1

Friday: 2 and 3

The second measure is the change in the hours in which the peak and plate will operate in Ibagué. Now, the restriction will operate between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning, and 3:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon. “We want to motivate Ibaguereños who pay their taxes in the city, who use our road infrastructure; We are going to reward them with the exception during off-peak hours, only for vehicles registered in Ibagué,” added the Mayor. The president also pointed out that there will be no mobility restriction for motorcycles.

Finally, no special permits will be given to private vehicles for circulation on restriction days and only the established exceptions will be taken into account.

Exceptions

Among the agreements that were reached with the citizens is the modification of the list of vehicles that could circulate through the capital of Tolima. Among those that will be able to circulate are the cars of the Public Force, security organizations and bodyguards; They also include media outlets, which must carry visible identification of the outlet; public service vehicles; food distribution, and stock carts.

In addition to this, cars that provide health or emergency services, such as the Fire Department and the Red Cross, are included; funeral services; cars that transport people with disabilities or senior public officials. Finally, electric, natural gas or hybrid vehicles, as well as motorcycles and teaching cars, are exempt from the measure.

In the case of vehicles from other regions that pass through the city or use the national variants, their circulation will be allowed for 120 minutes, presenting the toll payment receipt dated the same day of transit.
