With a foot in each department, it has been necessary to bring in a middle manager in the Glimt academy.

The choice of interim manager fell on Olav Øverli.

In 2020 he was player developer for G6-12 and in 2021 he was phase manager for G13-15. In January 2022, he was brought to Rana FK to work as A-team coach and development officer.

When the changes in the academy were made just before Christmas last year, Øverli returned to work as a player developer for the Glimt academy G17.

Just before the New Year, he put aside his coaching role to work as subject manager at the Glimt academy. Simply explained, he will lead all academic processes in the academy and ensure that they deliver on the basis of Glimt’s visions and the academic classification to NTF.

– It is an exciting role with a focus on delivery in the subject. For my part, it is the composition of everything that I find exciting. I like people, and in recent years I have learned that I like leading people who are interested in subjects. At the same time, I am in learning mode like everyone else. My role will be to set up the Glimt academy. This applies to everything we do in all year groups from 6-19 years. We will have to find the yellow threadhe says.
