Nicaragua, former guerrilla president Ortega thinks about re-election and has his opponents arrested

Determined to appear for the fourth time in the presidential elections next November, Daniel Ortega gets rid of potential opponents and has them arrested. A week ago it happened with Cristiana Chamorro and Arturo Cruz, two opposition candidates. They were charged with money laundering. Yesterday it was the turn of four other dissenters, also candidates in the race for the renewal of the office of president of Nicaragua: university professor Félix Maradiaga, former deputy minister of industry, Juan Sebastián Chamorro García, nephew of Violeta Barrios Chamorro, the only one to have ousted the former guerrilla during a pause in his long stay in power.
