«Divorce without tears», VG’s reviewer wrote about Shakira’s new album – and threw the dice on 4.
He concluded that Shakira does not appear either heartbroken or vengeful, almost two years after her breakup with former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué (37).
But Shakira has previously described the divorce as “the darkest period” of her life. And when she visited Jimmy Fallon on Monday, she said accordingly Entertainment Tonight that she does not refrain from tears.
She expresses herself in pictures:
– For far too long we have been sent off to cry with endless scripts in our hands, just because we are women. We have to hide our pain in front of the children and in front of society, the singer stated about suddenly being alone.
– We have to go through a special healing process, and I don’t think anyone else should tell us how. No one should tell a “She Wolf” (female wolf, and the title of one of her own songs, ed. note.) how to lick her wounds, right?
Shakira went on to say that women should decide when they want to cry, how they will cry – and when.
– No one should tell us how to cope with life’s difficulties.

Shakira also informed that the bad break-up has given her the opportunity to concentrate on her own craft – i.e. music.
In the past, the Colombian artist has said that for a long time she put her own career aside for the sake of her partner.
– I never had time because of the husband factor. Now I’m without a husband, she joked to Fallon.
– My husband pulled me down, but now I am free. And now I can work.
New boyfriend
Shakira and Spanish Piqué were never married, but they were a couple for 12 years and have two sons, aged 11 and nine, together.
After the breakup, Gerard Piqué has a new girlfriend, Clara Chia (25), who is employed by Piqué’s film and TV production company, Kosmos.
At this time last year, Pique stated to Spanish El Pais that he was happy and that “everyone has a responsibility to do what is best for their children”.
– It’s about protecting them. It’s the job of everyone who has children. That’s what I focus on in my role as a father.”
