Norwegian rider impressed in Paris-Roubaix: – Did a formidable job

The Norwegian Uno-X rider was at the top for a long time, and she held fast in group three, which for a long time only had half a minute up to the lead.

In the last few kilometres, it admittedly rained a bit, but Susanne Andersen could still smile about a 23rd place. At the finish line, she was two minutes and 14 seconds behind the winner.

– Andersen has done a formidable job of sitting far forward, said Discovery’s commentator Andreas Staune-Mittet during the classic.

The 25-year-old has had a varied season. After starting with a 26th place in Brugge-De Panne, she ended up all the way down to a 75th place in Gent-Wevelgem.

– It is fantastic to see. It is gratifying after having a tough season. She has had many ups and downs. She really deserved to get a good result. It had done a lot for self-confidence. Knowing that you are strong means a lot after such a start to the season, announced commentator Thea Thorsen.

At the very front, a sextet consisting of Lotte Kopecky, Marianne Vos, Elias Balsamo, Pfeiffer Georgi, Ellen van Dijk and Amber Kraak had crystallized early on.

The five riders stayed together all the way to the velodrome in Roubaix. There it was world champion Kopecky who was the strongest.

– I didn’t think we would see that, said Discovery’s commentator Andreas Staune-Mittet.

Italian Balsamo was second, while Dutch Vos took third place.
