School Day is celebrated annually on March 15, across the country, but the School of Inclusive Learning (EAI), from the Municipal Department of Education, Science and Technology, brought forward the celebrations and promoted a party on Wednesday (13) , together with the school community, with the performance of a cantata.
The students, professionals and student representatives gave a collective and symbolic hug around the EAI, demonstrating the importance of this equipment, which currently has 170 children enrolled, from 2 to 8 years old, typical and atypical.
There was also guidance on dengue, a presentation of the song “Era uma vez” and simultaneous translation into the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). Parents of students expressed gratitude for the creation of the unit and witnessed the advances of those assisted with regard to the process of teaching-learning.
The event was attended by the Secretary of Education, Marcelo Feres, who received a tribute from the students, through the song “Ao Mestre com Carinho” and a plaque of thanks.
“School is the place where people learn to read, write and delve deeper into the main areas of knowledge that are offered in basic education. But the school environment is also responsible for promoting socialization, as it is a time when children and adolescents have the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures, habits, beliefs and ethnicities. This date allows us to remember the role that schools play in the development of all individuals — typical and atypical. And that is why we are promoting inclusive education and coexistence in this space”, commented the secretary.
He recalled that the objective of EAI is to promote school reinforcement based on the proposals of the Efficient Learning Program (PAE), aiming to create an ecosystem with various actions that enable the acceleration of the teaching and learning process, with cognitive stimulation and emphasis in Languages and Mathematics.
The unit’s director, Eleonora Nascimento, highlighted that EAI is celebrating a significant advance in pedagogical development, having promoted in a playful and responsible way, with a unique look at the specificities presented by children, growth that follows the path of autonomy.
“The entire school community has experienced this progress. Today, students are offered very well-structured pedagogical support, with the support of musicalization, Braille, Libras (which children learn from the age of four) and games. At school, the child is attended twice a week, for two hours, and their parents, when waiting for them, go through conversation circles, where they are informed about their children’s rights, chat about their realities, health, quality of life, topics relevant to everyday life. The partnership between school and family has been an excellent experience. It was a very emotional afternoon, in which everyone was able to express themselves with music, dance, emotion and commitment to caring for, protecting and promoting the development of the school”, said the director.
