Original post (12:45 p.m.): There will soon be new food for Star Wars fans, which we would like to point out here, even if it only has something to do with LEGO: Yesterday the first poster for the upcoming Star Wars live series was released The Acolyte released, which has a release date for the premiere of the first season. It is also teased that something else could await us later today.
Official poster, release date and plot
According to the official poster, The Acolyte will be available from… 4. June 2024 running on Disney+. The poster itself shows a lightsaber lying on the ground, covered in bloodstains, and instead of an extended blade, suggesting a streak of red blood that appears to be coming from the lightsaber’s emitter. The words are above it “In an age of light a darkness rises”.
To Plot von The Acolyte What is known so far is that the series dates back several decades Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace should play. In it we experience the Jedi Order at the absolute peak of its power, i.e. at the time of the High Republic. The Jedi are deployed here as rangers and protect the edge of the Republic, including from a pirate group called Nothing. As part of the series, we will, among other things, experience the rise of the Order of the Sith and certainly bring some things that are currently in the area of Legends back into the official Star Wars canon.
Since the poster of the series already makes a relatively bloody impression, the series itself could also take a harder approach and be aimed primarily at an adult audience. But we’ll probably know more in a few hours, because that’s when we’ll see moving images from the series for the first time.

During the official X-Account von The Acolyte only a cryptic “Tomorrow” was published as the text for the poster via starwars.com confirms that an official trailer for The Acolyte will be waiting for us later today. We will of course update this post here as soon as the trailer is available.
The Acolyte is occupied by the actors Power Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Daphne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and Carrie-Anne Moss. is showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) and as executive producers are also there Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef included.
No LEGO sets expected yet
Of course, we don’t want to publish this article entirely without reference to LEGO, because for LEGO Star Wars fans there is only sobering news regarding The Acolyte: so far there is no sign of The Acolyte in the list of LEGO Star Wars new products for 2024, because the focus here is clearly on the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars.
While at least one set has been announced for the upcoming Skeleton Crew series, there is still no sign of The Acolyte. Of course, this can change over the coming months. Depending on the level of secrecy imposed by Lucasfilm, development of any planned sets will only start later and we will ultimately only see the kits in 2025.
