OUR U21S ARE PREPARING FOR MALAGA

The 1L classic championship resumes on February 21 for Yverdon Sport. Our replacement team is preparing in Spain, in Malaga, this week.

After Tunisia for the first team, it is Spain and more precisely Malaga which was chosen by the YS M21 staff to settle the last details before the resumption of the classic 1L championship. As a reminder, Patrick Isabella’s players currently occupy a good 8th place in the standings with a comfortable lead of eleven points over the bar (and over the first relegated FC La Sarraz-Eclépens). In less than a week, next Wednesday, they will face Grand-Saconnex, leader of the ranking, at the Municipal Stadium.

This Wednesday, the Yverdon Sport reserve flew to Malaga, where it will stay until Sunday. The players train twice a day and benefit from ideal infrastructures to alternate between the field, weight training and video analysis. The staff is made up of four coaches – Patrick Isabella, Mustafa Sejmenovic, Juan Rodriguez and Christopher Meylan – as well as two coaches for the entire organization – Philippe Demarque and Alain Poncet. The squad has 24 players, half of whom arrived this winter to strengthen the team ahead of the second part of the season.

On Friday, YS M21 will face FC Kickers Lucerne (2L inter) in a test match. The opportunity to put into practice the precepts trained since the resumption this winter. Group cohesion is also one of the cardinal values sought during this training camp in Spain.
