Pakistan, anti-terrorism judge and family murdered

by admin

PESHAWAR. Gunmen shot dead Aftab Ahmed Afridi, judge of the anti-terrorism court, and his family while traveling in Pakistan from the Swat Valley to the capital Islamabad. Police officer Shoaib Khan made it known. No one claimed responsibility for the attack, in which two of the judge’s bodyguards were seriously injured. Pakistani anti-terrorism courts have been set up to examine cases ranging from financing terrorism to prosecuting perpetrators. Critics say Pakistan’s extensive counter-terrorism laws have also been used to silence military critics.
