In Pakistan, a bus ran into a ravine in an isolated mountain area in the southwest of the country and the death toll is 18, including women and children. Local authorities report it. The incident took place precisely in the province of Balochistan, in the district of Qilla Saifullah. A district manager, Mohammad Qasim, reports that rescuers are still hard at work transporting the bodies to a nearby hospital and adds that there appear to be no survivors. The cause of the accident, which occurred on a narrow mountain road, is not known at the moment.
The authorities report that the weather was good and the police are checking the hypotheses of any mechanical problems or human error, since it seems that the bus had accelerated when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which in fact fell into the ravine. The president of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, as well as other government officials, expressed sorrow for the tragic accident and ordered the authorities to make arrangements for the delivery of the bodies of the victims to their families.
