Thousands of faithful march from the top of the Mount of Olives to the Old City
(LaPresse) Thousands of people took part in the Palm Sunday procession in Jerusalem despite tensions due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The faithful, coming from all over the world, holding palm fronds, walked from the top of the Mount of Olives to the Old City.
Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and is the beginning of the Church’s most solemn week, which includes Good Friday’s re-enactment of Jesus’ crucifixion and death and his resurrection at Easter.
