On the night of Friday, April 26, a massacre was recorded in the 20 de Agosto neighborhood, in the municipality of Corinto, Cauca, in events that are the subject of investigation for the authorities.
There were four people who were victims of a hitman attack that was perpetrated inside a home. Among the deceased is the popular music singer Sebastián Muñoz and his presenter on stage, the DJ and announcer known as JJ Villegas.
Through a statement, the singer’s press team confirmed the murder of these two people.
Details of the massacre in Corinto, Cauca
According to preliminary reports handled by the authorities, armed individuals entered the house where the victims were, whom they shot indiscriminately.
With deep pain, the manager and his work team officially announce that the artist Sebastián Muñoz and his presenter on stage, DJ JJ Villegas, die on the night of April 26 in confusing events in the municipality of Corinto.
According to the statement from the artist’s press team, the singer “left the city of Cali at the moment he received a call for a private presentation where we do not know the facts of this hitman attack or massacre.”
Who were Sebastián Muñoz and JJ Villegas?
Sebastián Villegas was a renowned popular music singer, also known as the king of parties and the lion of song. In the press release from his work team, the artist would have received a call to book a private presentation, which is why, apparently, he had traveled from Cali to Corinto.
Another of the victims was identified as JJ Villegas, an announcer from Corinto, and the singer’s right-hand man. He was a DJ and presenter of the artist’s shows.
The authorities are collecting material evidence to determine the circumstances of the manner, time and place in which the events occurred, to establish the possible motive for the massacre.
At this time no hypothesis is ruled out. In Corinto there is a strong presence of the Dagoberto Ramos front of the FARC dissidents.
